Hearing that there was a last minute opening for the Alpha retreat the Thursday night before the retreat, Tina wanted to invite her friend Carol who had gone deaf 7 years ago but regained a little hearing recently through surgery. However, there was only one day to ask and neither Tina nor Carol had a telephone. But when Carol showed up on Tina’s doorstep Thursday night at 10:30 PM, she knew God had opened the door. At the retreat Carol found a community of people where she was accepted and loved and felt reassured that God still loved her.
