Tara
Tara came to Alpha with a Laotian friend. She had gone to a church a few times with friends when she was a little child but not in the 20 years since and her parents are Buddhist. At the retreat she told us a childhood story. When she was 4 years old her parents where trying to escape the Communist army, running through the woods. Her father put her down to go to the bathroom but moments later her parents realized she had fallen into a river. Her father couldn’t catch up with her body being washed down by the current and then out of sight. But he kept walking along the river, found her body caught on a branch and pulled her out. Now Tara is wondering if it is God who saved her life and what purpose God has for her life. Alpha is her first introduction to Christianity and she is drawn by the love and acceptance.
