  • Sunday Morning Groups

Growth Community group descriptions are only to help you find the right fit. Feel free to visit and find the right group for YOU.  All Growth Community groups are open and would like to welcome you!

Note:  Most Growth Communities are wrapping up their weekly time together, but many will continue to meet occasionally throughout the summer for events and activities.  Watch the Weekly for opportunities to join in on group events or contact J.J. Porretta, Coordinator of Community Life for information on specific groups and how to connect in (616.796.3384 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)).

ALL 4 ONE (4= FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT & YOU)
This diverse, multi-cultural group comes together for the purpose of following Jesus: …through the study and application of God’s Word (Psalm 119:105) …through building loving cross-cultural relationships (Matthew 22:37-39) …and through pursuing racial and social justice for all people (Micah 6:8).

    CHOIR & FRIENDS
This group does not spend time singing, but they do have fun and enjoy a great Bible study discussion.  Some are choir members, but many are not. Choir and Friends is not “age” specific and is made up of both couples and singles.  This group enjoys times of fellowship, in addition to their regular study time.

    THE GAP (GRADUALLY AGING PEOPLE)
Couples and singles enjoying fun, fellowship and lively Bible study discussions.  Ages 40-60 something.

    OPEN HEARTS, OPEN HANDS
Despite differences of age, gender, marital status, life experiences and length of membership at CMC, our group seeks to live humble lives of service. To that end, we use Scripture, the preached Word and each other’s wise counsel. Trusting and being vulnerable, as well as laughing and crying together, builds our community.

    PARENTS OF TEENS & BEYOND
A loving, supportive group of parents with mostly teens and beyond. Good discussions around the Word, great socials and “free parental counseling.”

    PARENTS OF YOUTH & CHILDREN
For parents with children in elementary, middle and high school. This group discusses parenting and faith journey topics, prays together, and also gets together occasionally for fun and service events with families.

    * Unless otherwise noted, all Growth Communities meet weekly September - late April / mid-May.
