Salvation
Can I lose my salvation?
That’s a big can of worms you’re opening, Joe! This is one of those theological questions that can be discussed for hours and hours. If I said yes, I’m sure there’d be a line of believers who would call me some pretty nasty names. If I said no, there would be many who would want to bring strong exception to this as well. The Bible says clearly that if I believe in Jesus and what he did for me that I will be saved. Period. It also talks about the narrow path to Heaven - that many will want to enter Heaven but few will. These are confusing and seemingly conflicting statements. I believe the heart of the issue lies in the relationship side of one’s faith. I believe Knowing about God is important but Knowing God is what He is most interested in. For an authentic relationship to exist there has to be commitment, conversation, growth, etc. The Bible talks about how God knows our most inner thoughts. Falling away from God happens to young and old alike. God knows the source of that distancing. What happens to them if they die? Falling away versus turning their back completely on God are totally different issues. God would know the true answer. I wish I had a definitive answer, Joe. You probably should talk to a pastor about this one.
