    SUMMER MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Pacific Northwest Pilgrimage—June 8-17 (Open to current 10th-12th graders)

Have you ever really wanted to connect with God but struggled because of all of the “stuff” of normal life?  Does the thought of climbing a volcanic mountain, hiking back into a lava cave, or standing on the edge of a cliff looking down on the blue Pacific Ocean get your blood pumping?  For ten days, our small group will venture off into the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest for an opportunity we call “Pilgrimage.”  Tent-camping in rugged outdoor locations and activities will open the door to quiet times, conversations, and campfire talks that we hope will be transformational as God speaks into your hearts and minds.  Does God have something in mind that He wants to share with you?  There is an application process for this trip.

    Capacity:  12 students, 4 adults

    Cost:  $950 or $475 w/banquet participation
1ST PAYMENT (half of balance) by 4/16, FINAL PAYMENT by 5/14

Adventures in Missions—Puerto Rico—June 24-29 (Open to current 11th-12th graders)

Almost half of Puerto Rico’s population lives below the federal poverty line. Despite the advances the island has made through the years, unemployment hovers at a staggering 13 percent. This has led to a wave of emigration over the years to the mainland United States, in search of better economic conditions. The Puerto Rican community is now working to develop an ambitious new antipoverty program, the first funded entirely by the island government. This program is a effort to empower the locals to decide their own needs, like paving dirt roads and a more reliable water service

There’s a job waiting to be done.
People are waiting to be known.
God is moving in Puerto Rico and is calling a generation to “GO!”

Spend six days serving the people of Puerto Rico and meet people with stories to share and take a second to listen…

—LEAD children through a summer’s worth of adventure and discovery
—COACH sports while building strong relationships
—SERVE in meaningful ministry with local partners doing what we must to make them successful.

Puerto Rico needs Jesus and the hope His message brings.  There is an application process for this trip.

    Capacity:  12 students, 4 adults

    Cost:  $1,000 or $500 w/banquet participation
1ST PAYMENT (half of balance) by 4/16, FINAL PAYMENT by 5/14

Sunset Gap Community Center, Cosby, Tennessee—June 30-July 7 (Open to current 9th-12th graders)

Come and join a team of hard-working students and service-minded leaders in making a difference in a very small community in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee.  Located just outside of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the community center is a ministry of the Presbyterian Church.  Projects will be home repair projects for those who aren’t able to do the work themselves.  Highlights of this trip will include spending some great time in the natural beauty of Tennessee and North Carolina, a hometown 4th of July celebration including fireworks, and group-building time on and off the work-sites.  If you like working hard to help someone in need and enjoy the great outdoors, this could be the perfect trip for you!
