Hand2Hand Ministries
Hand2Hand Ministries provides healthy food to children over the weekends, so they have a greater opportunity to succeed academically, emotionally, and physically. This ministry is led by Ministry Coordinator: Cindy Bosman and Volunteer Coordinator: Jenny Jongsma. How does H2H provide food to students?
Christ Memorial is partnered with Holland West Elementary School to provide food to children identified as ‘at risk’ of going without food over the weekends. Bags of food are provided in the student’s locker every Friday while the student is in class. Items provided in the bag may include snacks, drinks, and other non-perishable items. Occasionally fresh produce may be provided. The food provided is intended to alleviate hunger for one child over the weekend. Each week 1,200 items are needed to fill 100 food bags.
